The space afforded by the Supreme Court Buildings, and other matters relating to the Organisation of the Court, I have the honour to transmit the following observations for Your Lordship's information.

2. Having submitted to the Chief Justice the staff proposed by Your Lordship's predecessor and having been informed by His Honour that he considered it quite sufficient to provide for the work in the Registry, I caused the Estimates for the year 1881 to be framed accordingly; and the new arrangements will therefore take effect after the close of the current year.

3. With regard to the Salaries of Messrs. Barff, Sangster, and Mossop, the number of Officials forming the staff, the financial results of carrying out the recommendations contained in the Report of the Commissioners, and a Comparative Statement of the number and emoluments of the Officers under the old, the provisional, and the new organization, I enclose a copy of my minute of the 16th December 1899, and copies of the Report of the Auditor General dated 2nd January 1880, and copies of letters from the Chief Justice, from which Your Lordship will obtain information on the points indicated.

4. On the question of the Security to be given by the respective Officers.
